The painter, who holds a degree in Fine Arts, is always accompanied by her talisman – the pencil. Marlenka Stupica has created the faces and figures of many fairy-tale characters from Slovenian and world children’s literature. She has received a number of prizes for her illustrations, including six Levstik awards. The texts she has embellished never go out of print due to her traditional yet modern and original style.
