Tone Pavček
9/29/1928 ✝ 10/21/2011

The poet Tone Pavček claimed his place among the giants of Slovenian literature for all ages a long time ago. Critics have called him ‘a word magician’; he played with words and sounds both as a translator and as an extraordinary poet. His poems are often as boisterous as children; and while he speaks of pain, disappointment, and sorrow in his work, he never accommodates despair. He keeps his eyes raised, towards the sun.
